Lindsey photographed Cindy and Tony about 2 months ago, and just put together their Fusion Film. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the feel to this one. She did an amazing job, with such a great concept, I had NO idea their was a rooftop deck on top of the Staten Island Ferry! It’s still one of my favorite cheap NYC tourist things to do.
Their wedding is coming up fast, I can’t wait to see the pics!

I’ve been meaning to do a blog entry about talking about our signature IHNY sessions.
Are you asking “What’s an IHNY session”?
Simply put: an IHNY session is a photo shoot with a serious upgrade designed to celebrate you and your love of the greatest city in the world (not that we’re biased or anything).
We shoot as you stroll on the High Line in West Chelsea, eat a bite at a sidewalk cafe in the Meatpacking
district, or a ride on the carousel in Bryant park – even fly through the sky, in the city you love in a chopper!
Prior to the shoot, we’ll discuss how you are, what you love to do and where you like to do it. Then we’ll create a storyboard for your shoot. Each session unique and all about you and NYC!
The day of the shoot, we meet at my studio in Chelsea where I provide hair, makeup and a little bubbly if you are so inclined. We’ll hang your clothes, discuss your options (including wardrobe changes) and even steam the wrinkles! :)
After the shoot, we’ll upload all the images to a secure website where your friends and family can view the pics.
Then, we’ll create our signature IHNY photo books which you will proudly display on your coffee table to the envy of your friends. For you brides and grooms, we can create a version to use as a guest book for your wedding day.
Here’s some images from the shoots, a book, and a few “behind the scenes.”
Lindsey, Chris and I are having such a blast with this year’s IHNY sessions! I gotta thank Kathy and Steve for the most EPIC IHNY session ever! Here’s a quick teaser to give you an idea. :)
Second quick teaser post! (I know it’s been a while)
Beth called me earlier in the week and asked if I could push her IHNY session up a week given the amazing (and a little freaky) weather we were having. I’m glad we did!
I’m hoping for the same fabulous weather next month at the Stellaris Casino in Aruba! I know Lindsey can’t wait! :)
Spring is in the air!!! Y-E-S! 75 degrees, sunny, and absolutely gorgeous! Looking forward to their wedding next month at Temple Emanuel!
Last week Lindsey and I had the pleasure of shooting Cadence and Eli’s IHNY session. We always like to have inspiration for our shoots – for this one it was all about black and white, mixed with some stripes. Throw in a bright colored scarf, and VOILA, “Mr. Wellie meets B&W”, as I coined this shoot. :)
We can’t wait for their wedding next month in Minneapolis – I’ll let their FUsioN Film describe their plans:

One of the many reasons I love NYC so much is you never know what you may stumble upon. As we wandered into Chinatown, we stumbled upon a celebration for the Chinese Lunar New Year. It was quite a treat as we joined the parade of Dragons down Mott Street – only in New York! :)
It’s been a frigid winter here in NYC; Ross and Lesya’s IHNY session was one for the books. Ross and I have become good friends over the last few years - he’s also responsible for designing my new website, blog and branding….. oh, and he’s also one of my talented associates. :) I was psyched to nail down these two when they were in town as typically their trips to NYC are filled with lots of work, and not too much time for play.
Of course, the evening we planned for the shoot was 4 degrees, with a wind chill that made it feel like 20 below – I’m not exaggerating! It was, to be quite honest, the coldest shoot I’ve ever done. Ross and Leysa were troopers and I think they finally thawed out as we were doing their interviews over hot chocolate and cappuccinos in a cute Little Italy bakery.

I work hard to make all of my IHNY sessions very personal, and I always ask for suggestions regarding the “concept” for each shoot. My goal is to make it a statement about them, their love for each other, and of course, iconic New York City. When Oshrat and Michael suggested the concept “Humphrey Bogart meets Lauren Bacall” I was concerned about “pulling it off”. “Bogie” and “Baby” were photographed by some the great photographers of our time, and that would be a hard act to follow! With such awesome subjects though, it was easy, and we laughed thoughout the entire session. Oshrat and Michael ROCKED this session just like two film legends.
I’m looking forward to their wedding in December at TriBeCa rooftop, just around the corner from where we took these pictures. Here’s a movie and few pics – check out more here.

As of today, June 24, Central Park has gotten 8.52 inches of rainfall in the month of June alone! The record is 10.27 inches, set in June 2003. This is currently the sixth rainiest June ever, but with 6 days left, we could approach the record by month-end…..
Fortunately, last Friday night we had a brief break in the rain for Ariel and Ian’s IHNY session. We enjoyed a stroll on the brand new Highline park in my neighborhood. It’s been ten years in the making and I’ve been watching the progress since the start when I first moved into my studio. Needless to say, I’ve seen a ton of change in West Chelsea and this is certainly a “high point” in NYC’s history. When you have the time, you gotta go check it out – or better yet, be one of the first to have your IHNY session on the Highline!
After the Highline, we headed back to the studio for a quick outfit change, hopped on the C train to DUMBO for an evening shoot overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
It was an awesome night featuring the best views NYC has to offer, new and old, I’ll never tire of those views — I ♥ NY! :)
Thanks again Ariel and Ian for a fun night, and I’m looking forward to a slightly different view at the Rosecliff mansion in Newport, RI when I shoot your wedding this fall!
Here’s a few of my favorite pics, and a movie!
