….well after a long hiatus, blogging is back! I must admit Facebook has eaten much of the time I’d use for blogging. I’m weak, I’ll admit it. :)
I’ve got some fun news. Starting 2009 off with a bang, I’m going to now be featuring less writing and more “vlog” entries. I think blogging is dead. No one is reading anymore, but I do feel people still like to look at pretty pictures and video. Welcome to my first “vlog” entry! Big thanks to Penina and Benji. I’m looking forward to your wedding in MUCH warmer weather!
Wow – what a week! Thanks to everyone who attended C2E. It was awesome working with John Michael Cooper on concepts from beginning to end. We had awesome weather, and HOT models. :) Bigtime thank you to our models including the Melissa and Rene Tirado.
Here’s a few pics and film my good friend Darrell Aubert created, dude you ROCK!
Your one day private workshop will include spending the day working with Jason at his studio. You will spend part of the day discussing business and how to better grow your brand.
You and Jason will head out onto the streets of NYC for a one on one intensive shooting session during which you will discuss how Jason conceptualizes each shot from the hair and makeup to the wardrobe and location. During the shoot, Jason will evaluate your current shooting style and identify techniques to help you become a better shooter. From seeing the light to framing the shot, Jason will work with you to improve your pictures.
Using reflectors, off camera flash and choosing the right lens for each shot are just a few things we’ll explore….
Killer models, amazing hair and makeup and, of course, awesome wardrobe and locations will be provided.
When: You tell me! Email me – firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know when you’d like to schedule your one-on-one.

Join John Michael Cooper and Jason Groupp for a 2 day intensive workshop in New York City!
What: 2 days of intensive hands-on lighting instruction and practice Where: Jason Groupp’s Studio and the streets of New York City! When: 10/19 and 10/20
The wedding photography industry is changing at the speed of light. New cameras allow us to shoot under
almost any lighting condition and level the playing field like never before. For 3K anyone can go out and purchase a few pieces of equipment, lock the camera in “P” mode and hang a shingle proclaiming “I’M A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER AND I’M AWESOME: HIRE ME!”
JMC and Jason Groupp will discuss how they conceptualize and execute portrait shoots from start to finish, and integrate fundamental lighting and camera techniques, advanced art inspired imagery, posing and implementing conceptual ideas into your photography. They will also break down unique concepts that they use everyday. From simple “on the fly” to complex multi-light setups
Each day will consist of a morning presentation by JMC and Jason Groupp discussing the day’s concepts, followed by live shoots. The afternoon shoot will focus on mixing available light and strobe techniques. The evening shoot will focus on using continuous and strobe techniques.
All of course will implement JMC and JG’s signature styles.
